David Wechsler

    1939年发展魏氏智力测验（ Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale ），测验分成两个部分：语言分量表（verbal scale）与操作分量表(performance scale)，操作分量表要求受试者来操作或排列图片、积木或其他东西；魏氏智力测验也提供各个分测验的分数，如此则主试者可以清楚的了解受试者智力的各项长、短处再测信度（test-retest reliabilities）约为0.90。之后又发展了类似的儿童测验－Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children(WISC)。

他对智力的概念是“intelligence is the aggregate to global capacity of the individual to act purposefully, to think rationally, and to deal effectively with his environment”。
