David Wechsler

    1939年發展魏氏智力測驗（ Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale ），測驗分成兩個部分：語言分量表（verbal scale）與操作分量表(performance scale)，操作分量表要求受試者來操作或排列圖片、積木或其他東西；魏氏智力測驗也提供各個分測驗的分數，如此則主試者可以清楚的瞭解受試者智力的各項長、短處再測信度（test-retest reliabilities）約為0.90。之後又發展了類似的兒童測驗—Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children(WISC)。

他對智力的概念是「intelligence is the aggregate to global capacity of the individual to act purposefully, to think rationally, and to deal effectively with his environment」。
