Kiyang Elementary School Nao-ao South River Ecological Exploration Camp Project

 

Implementation scheme

 

Purpose¡G

n          The region in our school can take full advantage of abundant natural resources to develop local culture and boost diversified social progress.

n          The unique courses and learning schemes are shared by other schools for ¡¥scene curriculum--innovative teaching--experiencing & learning¡¦.

n          The school, parent committee and the community development association shall join hands to promote the unique courses, and also provide the travelers with various thematic courses.

Period: Weekends of July and August, 2006

Principle

(1). Resources¡G combine and make use of existing human resources, expenses, environment and the community resources.

(2). Exploratory activities¡Gdevelop exploratory activities depending upon our school resources.

(3).Traffic and accommodations¡Gstationed in the South River; in the case of bad weather, the school will provide classrooms or ask the community to provide a cultural gathering place for accommodation.

(4).Two-win initiation¡Gthe school and the association will cooperate closely to provide various thematic courses for ordinary people.

 

Subjects and opening

(1). Subjects¡G

1.          The elementary school students, IN grade five and six, must be accompanied by their parents.

2.         Junior school, senior school and college students.

3.          Civil societies or ordinary people.

(2).Opening¡G

1.          20 persons, every time.

2.          20 persons for every group.

3.          Individual applicants: handling for enough persons (if the number of applicants exceeds 20, the remaining is incorporated into the next group)

3.          Arrange the activities, notify immediately the date and contents.

4.          Every applicant will be charged NT$2, 000 (expenses cover the spending on teachings, transportation, dinning, materials, activities and insurance)

 

Notice

1.          A series of holiday activities will be held in the form of camping. So, only tent facilities, such as: sleeping bag or personal items, are provided.

2.          The application fee covers the transportation fee from Nan-ao to Kiyang by shuttle. The train expense is not included in our service.

3.          As most of the activities are hold in open air, you should equip yourself with portable and warm clothing and water sandals.

4.          If there is any doubt, please contact Kiyang Elementary School.

Day 1: Camping zone---->Bitan River tracing----> return to camp ---->  night survey

Day 2: Camping zone---->ginger cultivation area---->Chungyueh River Hiking Trail visit----> aboriginals¡¦ rattan culture (Kiyang Elementary School) ---->return to camp----> drop off

¡·Mystery Lake¡Glocated near the Fanbao Mt. of the Central Mountains, a high-altitude lake. There is only one outlet to Aohua Waterfall. The lake has different water storage with the change of seasons, so there are marsh areas where various water plants live. As the result of high altitude, there appears cloud and mist after noon.

¡·Old Wuta Trail¡Gan ancient path along South River. there are many virgin forests with singing cicada and birdcalls, making it become a famous summer resort. The path was built ahead of the Japanese occupation period, and renovated for tourism development in Jingyang District.
