Kiyang Village is located in the right bank of the Nao-ao South River. It is the farthest tribe to Suhua Road among
seven tribes of Nan-ao
Township, and also the
last one to maintain its Arayal culture. With Kiyang Elementary School
as a demarcation, the people(tribe) in the east are from Kiyang tribe of Old
Kiyang, and those in the west from the Qunox.

The Qunox in the lower section
of Bo-ai Road
settled down after five migrations. As the result of long-term isolation in
the mountains, Old Kiyang people were accustomed to the life of free hunting. After migrations in three
stages, they settled down in Chongyueh led by the head of Mr. Hsin-lai You
and Vuvu Jin-shan He, and then migrated to Kiyang Road at east of the Kiyang Elementary School. This village was
set up formally in 1968 and had a population of about 500.
